This article covers how teachers can reset student passwords. To learn about how students can reset their own passwords, read this article.
A student can reset their own password if your school has enabled student password reset feature and the student has saved either their own email address in Educake. They can initiate a password reset from this page: https://my.educake.co.uk/forgottenstudentpassword
If students haven't saved their or email address in Educake, or if your school has disabled this feature, then teachers at your school can reset students' passwords.
Teachers can change one or multiple student passwords by going to "Manage students, classes and years" here:
Changing an individual student's password
Change one student’s password by clicking on their name, and then clicking on "Reset password to username". Here’s what this looks like:
The password will then be set to the same as the username. For security, they will need to enter their last name too when they next log in. They will also be asked to enter a new (more secure) password once they've successfully logged in.
Resetting multiple student passwords
You can reset multiple student passwords in Manage Students, Classes and Years as well. Do this by selecting all the students whose passwords you'd like to reset. The "Edit Chosen Students" box will appear on the right, like this:
Click on "Reset passwords" to reset those students' passwords to be the same as their usernames.
